California

Last year in January, California legislators voted on a bill that would’ve mandated AANHPI Studies into California school curriculum, but they failed to pass it through. This year, we must not fail again. After advocating to our California legislators and Governor Newsom, Assembly Bill 1354,  which urges all Californian schools to ensure that AANHPI history and contributions are included in their curriculum, has been passed into law.

AB 1354 has passed the Assembly, Senate, and now the Governor! Check the What We've Done page to see.

Make sure to thank your elected officials and the Governor for the passage of Assembly Bill 1354! To encourage the mandate of AB 1354, we need our government to continue recognizing the need for AANHPI studies in school curriculum.
